this is where i'll be placing my monthly collages... something that i've been making every month since the start of the year.. they are nothing special just something i like to do to keep track of my interests/likes in media every month, kind of like a visual diary of some sorts

2023

this collage i made at the end of 2023 (last year), i don't exactly remember what made me decide to make one but suddenly i thought i should somehow commemorate the year through a collage with all of my favorite images that i collected over the past 12 months, and this (above) was the result. i'm quite proud and fond of this rough little creation, it's currently my laptop screensaver and everytime i look at it it reminds me of all the things that i loved and made me happy throughout that year. it includes images from so many various things as well as a kind of theme of similar things within it. (all of the images were taken from either instagram, pinterest, and screenshots). specifically in the collage there are photos of: shows that i watched: 'ugly betty', 'sailor moon', 'nana', 'paradise kiss', 'hospital playlist', 'iwgp', and a few others. movies that were my top favorites: 'doom generation' restoration, 'eat drink man woman', colin farrell movies in general.. some images that i loved from photoshoots or magazine interviews. and the biggest and most common category of images that are strewn throughout the collage very obviously are of my favorite kpop group seventeen, who had a huge impact on my year (which is evident from all of the photos of them, to keep it short they're very important to me). and theres of course so many other references to things that i didn't mention but this is basically what it is: everything i loved and cherished in 2023 and took with me into 2024.

january '24

this is obviously the first month where i started consistently making these collages, a very packed month i think. a lot of music: the sundays discography (my fave is static & silence) and red velvets discography are the most notable. i read two mangas: Paradise Kiss and Wotakoi (i tried reading maid sama but didn't like it).i watched the anime Neighborhood Story, which has characters i love soooo much. one of the two common things included is members of seventeen (who are always in each month..i love them a lot..) and the other is enya and orion who are the only influencers that influence me.. (they also are included in the collages throughout the year..). this is also the month where i played fortnite for the first time and got my first ever win ☺. there are other stuff i didn't mention but this is already getting too long.. just look and enjoy lol.

february '24

my birth month ♥! big things from this month: i started reading Nana (my most favorite and beloved manga), i finished watching Neighborhood Story anime, i read the last book i'd read the whole year 'Black Swans' by Eve Babitz, and also listened to Fiona Apples discography, i watched a few movies: Anyone But You, Thelma and Louise, Crossroads, and more. And of course there are so many photos of seventeen from this month, really big month for me as a carat...

march '24

huge month for movies.. (retrospectively i noticed as the year progressed i watched less movies which is very sad..) my favorites are included in the collage which are: rewatched every Jackass (i love jackass so much like... very intensely), Dune part 2 (just incredible, huge moment for me), rewatched Ex Machina Matrix and Dune (1) (i was obvi on a scifi tip), some loved first watches: sunshine, intermission, elvis (a mild obsession with this one), and oppenheimer. i also started watching the anime monster in this month, had a brief one day stint with one piece (i love perona + thriller bark nami). other than the required seventeen photos inserted, there are miscellaneous photos of ppl i just like a lot like ayo edibiri, austin butler, my'hala, hasan piker (who i include in every month...), kristen dunst, enya and some others.

april '24

here i began rewatching the first 10 seasons of americas next top model a very nostalgic show for me. i slowly was working my way through Nana the manga, and i finished watching the anime monster. i also finished watching the korean dating show exchange s3 and it left a huge effect on me.. such a good show. some movies of the month: new watches - party girl, triangle of sadness, daytrippers, and challengers (top 5 of the year honestly) rewatches - natural born killers, elvis, interstellar and birdget jones diary. i played a lot of fortnite and got a few new skins.. oh and i watched one of the best shows ever, true detective season 1, just an incredible viewing experience (i think about it still to this day months later..). new seventeen music released (so obvi a huge month for me i love a good comeback).

may '24

this particular month i was particularly obsessed with jeopardy, specifically the tournaments (ie masters), i tuned in lie every day so of cours i put the month title as jeopardy themed. some big things for this month: seventeen music videos (lalali, spell, cheers to youth), new emergency intercom set (rip to that one), a lot of americas next top model was watched, and i watched the animes after the rain (loved!) and ergo proxy. i also saw ryusuke hamaguchi (one of my fave directors) newest film of evil does not exist and it was amazing, i read nana a lot of course and watched a few collin farrell movies :D.

june '24

one of my fave collages visually... looks so good. this is when i finished NANA by Ai Yazawa, and 6 months later i'm still reeling from finishing such a beautiful piece of art, i cried so much when finishing it but it makes me so happy as a whole, incredible managa seriously. this is also when i started rewatching the x files for the umpteenth time so of course i needed to have mulder and scully in there. some hits: i saw maggie rogers live in concert, the bear s3 came out (i loved), watched quite a few movies (la chimera, fire of love, dead or alive etc), new music came out (new red velvet, seventeen (JxW), and nayeon). just a fun lil month.

july '24

i read kimi ni todoke for the first time!!! seriously such a sweet story (especially after the emotional throws of nana), i think about it all the time. i think this month kind of shows the downturn where there are less and less things that i have to add, not that it is a bad thing just not many media related things that i loved enough to include. i saw maxxxine which was fun, and i saw IU in concert which was AMAZING. more x files. i started love island USA for the first time (i was previously a uk only girl). and yeah lol.

august '24

i got a digicam, which is the same model in this collage. i got to season 8 of x files and decided to stop (i miss mulder too much) and move on to a diff show. watched quite a few movies ☺ - the first slam dunk (one of my faves of the year obsessed), inside out 2, flirt, the sweet east that i loved soo much. some seventeen magazine shoots, and the monkey meme i was obsessed with at the time.

september '24

another favorite collage, the colors!. i watched A LOT of movies this month which was out of the norm for me the previous months (hard year for movie watching for me unfortunately), some of my faves of the month: girl with the dragon tattoo (fincher ver.), boy and the heron, kinds of kindness, the new world, the big chill, and my short lived billy crystal phase (love him). i also rewatched the bear with my mom and i decided its one of my fave shows ever. this is also when i decided to create this site! oh and i also started my john waters phase (most watched director of 2024 lol).i also started the slam dunk anime which i of course love so much so good and i dont even care about basketball! and the moon, i love the moon.

october '24

my favorite month personally of the whole year, this month really changed my outlook and overall everyday view of things, i have become more positive since this month. i saw my beloved favorite group Seventeen (twice!), and it was the best time ever, really hard to put into words what it meant to me. i did a lot offline as well so not many media related things i had to add this month other than Seventeen 😁.i watched a few movies and rewatched the first slam dunk after finishing the anime. and seventeens spill the feels came out (it is obvious how much i love that group..). oh and i am very patiently waiting for fka twigs' new album in january.

november '24

movies finally were back for me, i watched quite a few newer movies and rewatched others (gone girl, the substance, splendor, alien romulus, conclave, secretary..).new seventeen japanese release 'shohikigen' which i've been obsessed with ever since its release. i started rewatching a bit of avatar the last airbender a perfect show. i slowly started becoming obsessed with josh o'connor (new fave actor alert?). also desperate housewives became a staple show for me. oh and timothee chalamets rolling stone photo shoot incredible.

december '24

an incredible month to close the year out on, like seriously the most wonderful things happened, were watched, and just loved. MOVIES: i saw a complete unknown, rewatched wicked, and the brutalist in theaters and each experience was incredible and i love those movies so much, im kind of in love with jimmy stewart and tapped into old hollywood with the philadelphia story and shop around the corner, and rewatched its a wonderful life (which is the perf xmas movie), also paddington. i love paddington. new twice album came out and was perfect as always. and i included photoshoots here and there that blew me away (lily rose depp interview mag, harris dickinson nyt, enya and drew for heaven by marc jacobs etc). more seventeen (how could i end the year without them) and went on a major phase/obsession/era with watching cdawgva on twitch (i spent a month doing so... i watched so many of his vids). just a great month for me and made me very excited for the new year!

2024

looking at this collage, that is the culmination of my whole year, it makes me quite happy. when looking at specific images i can remember the time and memory it is attached to which is honestly the point of these collages for me, i really hate not remembering things which is why i try to make things like these so i don't forget, even the little things. when making this one in particular it was a bit of a struggle, i had so many images and things to add but it was hard to pull together into one thing, and at one point i kind of had too much room lol. i made sure to put all the things i loved the most and brought special attention to them (these are the larger images). i don't really want to talk about specific things because it is stuff that has been taken throughout each month and generally similar things/themes to the previous year. the biggest things included are: seventeen (i thank the universe every day that i was able to see them in person), my fave movies of the year (including challengers, girl w/ dragon tattoo, dune 2), Nana - manga - that had a HUGE impact on me, the sundays and fiona apple discographies, the x files, slam dunk, and many many other things. all in all i loved making these collages throughout the year and am happy to add it to my site for me to look back to.
